Over these two days, our delegation showcased Mongolia’s growing leadership in evaluation, from gender-transformative approaches to professionalization and indigenous evaluation:
Gender-Transformative Evaluation
Mongolian Evaluation Association /MEA/ Founder & President Erdenechimeg Ulziisuren spoke as a panelist on institutionalizing evaluation for gender-transformative change, highlighting Mongolia’s experience based on her evaluator's perspective at the panel discussion with Emmanuel Jimenez, Nassreena Sampaco Baddiri from Independent Evaluation Department at ADB, Rituu B Nanda from Global Fund for Children and Ms. Keiko Takahashi from Ministry of Finance, Japan..
VOPE & EvalYouth Summit on Professionalization
Erdenechimeg Ulziisuren presented the "Evaluation Standards in the Asia Pacific" developed by Asia Pacific Evaluation Association - APEA and also co-shared with Sabine M. Palmreuther from DEval-Institute on "A Collaborative Path Toward Professionalization and Competency Development" showcasing Mongolia and DEval-Institute's partnership strengthening evaluation capacity and ecosystem in Mongolia.
Indigenous Evaluation: Seeding, Strengthening, Amplifying
MEA member Azjargal Amarsanaa was featured as a panelist in the session Strengthening Relationships, Amplifying Voices: Seeding Indigenous Evaluation” funded by Asia Pacific Evaluation Association - APEA and Ford Foundation's Seed Grants on Indigenous evaluation. She presented the MEA work developed with the Indigenous Evaluation Seed Grant, spotlighting the importance of indigenous knowledge and community-driven perspectives.
Across Days 2 and 3, MEA members engaged in insightful exchanges, forged new partnerships, and continued contributing to conversations that shape the future of evaluation in the Asia-Pacific region.
We are grateful for this meaningful experience — and proud to represent Mongolia’s evaluation community on the regional stage.
