Mongolian Evaluation Association– Indigenous Evaluation TIG Officially Launched!

Mongolian Evaluation Association officially established our Indigenous Evaluation Topical Interest Group (TIG) together with esteemed MEA members and representatives from the Tsaatan community.

During the event, we presented the “Elevating Tsaatan Voices: Sowing the Seeds of Evaluation in Mongolia” report and provided participants with valuable insights into indigenous evaluation principles and the APEA-developed Indigenous Evaluation Toolkit.

Our Tsaatan community guests shared their rich culture, unique traditions, and lived experiences—reminding us why centering indigenous voices in evaluation is essential for inclusive and meaningful development.

We are also proud to announce that MEA has received the “Germinating Capacity of Indigenous Evaluators” grant, in partnership with Asia Pacific Evaluation Association, EvalIndigenous, & EvalPartners, marking the start of a new journey to nurture indigenous youth evaluators and strengthen community-led evaluation practices.

It was a day filled with inspiring discussions, learning, and new connections.

Together, we move forward in rooting indigenous perspectives in Mongolia’s evaluation landscape.
